Gal Costa
Born in Salvador de Bahia in 1945, Maria da Graça Penna Burgos was one of the central voices of tropicália, present on the manifesto record Tropicália ou Panis et Circencis in 1968. Baby and then the album Índia, in 1973, are among her peaks. Ranked 90th among the greatest singers by Rolling Stone, awarded a Latin Grammy in 2011, she died in 2022.
