Caetano Veloso
Born in 1942 in Bahia, he launched the tropicalist movement with Gilberto Gil in the 1960s. Arrested by the Brazilian military dictatorship, he was released on condition that he leave the country and spent his exile in London until 1972. Two Grammy Awards, nine Latin Grammy Awards and nineteen Brazilian music prizes. Person of the year 2012 for the Latin academy.
