The Who
Formed in London in 1964 by Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle and Keith Moon. My Generation reached number two in the United Kingdom in 1965. The rock opera Tommy sold 200,000 copies in the United States in two weeks in 1969, followed by Who's Next and then Quadrophenia. Keith Moon died in 1978. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
