Christopher Wallace, born in Brooklyn in 1972, shot dead in Los Angeles in 1997 at 24. Ready to Die sold 500,000 copies in its first week and ended up quadruple platinum. Life After Death, released sixteen days after his death, entered at number one and went diamond. The first artist to send two posthumous singles to the top of the Hot 100. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
