Family group from Cincinnati formed in 1954, present on the American charts across six consecutive decades, a record. Shout, Twist and Shout and then It's Your Thing, a Grammy in 1969, mark their move from doo-wop to funk. Jimi Hendrix was their guitarist before his solo career. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992.
