Born in Chicago in 1933 and died in 2024, a trumpeter, then arranger, then producer. Twenty-eight Grammys from eighty nominations. He produced Thriller, the best-selling album in history, as well as Off the Wall and Bad. He had previously arranged for Frank Sinatra and Count Basie.
