Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal started Placebo in London in 1994. The first album came out in 1996, the year of a tour with David Bowie. Nancy Boy and Pure Morning reached number four in the United Kingdom. Sleeping with Ghosts is double platinum in France. More than 11 million albums sold worldwide as of 2011.
