Franz Ferdinand
Formed in Glasgow in 2002, Alex Kapranos's band put the angular guitar back at the centre of British rock. Take Me Out climbed to number three in the United Kingdom and the first album, released in 2004, won the Mercury Prize that same year for around 3.6 million copies sold. You Could Have It So Much Better followed in 2005.
