Close to twenty-five million records sold in a sixteen-year career. L'Été indien, released in 1975, sold more than a million copies in France and around three million worldwide, in more than twenty-five countries. L'Amérique and Les Champs-Élysées each passed 600,000 sales. He died in 1980, at forty-one.
