Behind Owl City stands Adam Young, an American from Owatonna, Minnesota, who built his audience on MySpace before signing in 2008. Fireflies went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in the autumn of 2009 and was certified diamond. The album Ocean Eyes sold 1.1 million copies. Good Time, with Carly Rae Jepsen, reached number eight in 2012.
