Michael Holbrook Penniman was born in Beirut in 1983 and holds both British and American citizenship. Life in Cartoon Motion, his first album released in 2007, sold more than 8 million copies and Grace Kelly held five weeks at number one in the United Kingdom. He also sings in French: Elle me dit went to number one in France in 2011.
