Formed in Basildon in 1980, the band has sold more than 100 million records. Violator, released in 1990, spent 74 weeks on the Billboard 200 and is certified triple platinum there. Fifty-four of their tracks have entered the British singles chart. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020. Andy Fletcher died in 2022.
