London trio formed in 2005 in Wandsworth, The xx holds on almost nothing: two voices answering each other, a bass, silences. Their first album won the Mercury Prize in 2010, which pushed it from number sixteen back up to number three in the United Kingdom. Coexist and I See You both reached the top of the English chart.
