Band founded in 1968 by George Clinton, the rock side of the P-Funk collective. Maggot Brain, in 1971, opens on a guitar solo by Eddie Hazel that became legendary. One Nation Under a Groove went to the top of the R&B chart in 1978. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
